The LuEsther T. Mertz Library at the New
York Botanical Garden initiated a pilot project to digitize and make
accessible via the internet rare 19th century works on American trees
by French botanists Andre and Francois-Andre Michaux.
The library chose Greenstone for presenting their content because of Greenstone’s
open nature and its very strong search capabilities.
Digital Library Consulting created a modified Greenstone collection that allowed importing of the
library’s existing XML data.
